I was awarded a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge in 1998 for work on network control, since then I have been at IBM Research in Zurich. I started working on dynamically deploying virtual infrastructure but in 1999 this was a little ahead of its time. Since then I have been working in the field of distributed systems, e.g. larges scale distributed games, sensor networks, realtime messaging. My current research is in the field of OS deployment.
