Anisotropic-magnetic-susceptibility measurements on single crystals of the high-temperature superconductor Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O (2:2:1) with Tcf80 K are reported. The anisotropy is a measure of the degree of hybridization of the copper and oxygen orbitals. © 1990 The American Physical Society.
