A systematic formulation for solving nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) problems involving diffusion in restricted geometry and inhomogeneous magnetic field is presented. Focus is on the Carr-Purcell-Meiboom-Gill (CPMG) multiple spin echo response of magnetization decaying by diffusion in an inhomogeneous static field in a restricted geometry. The main and new results are embodied in the analytical expressions for the relaxation exponent for the asymptotic regimes.
