Splitting words and Lorenz braids
Abstract
A canonical way to split Lorenz periodic orbits is presented. This allows one to recognize the braids on the Lorenz template which can occur in non-chaotic semi-flows on this surface. We first present a combinatorial version of our main result, and then merely reinterpret it in topological terms. © 1993.
