The requirement of composer Philip Glass for a simple Web-based device, which would allow anyone to listen to his complete works, is discussed. The composer approached IBM Research for the purpose and described a musical scrollbar that could be used by people to navigate his works chronologically. The complete works of Glass were made browseable by title, date, and length. Glass's recorded music was represented in its entirety to make the project successful.
