Bulent Abali           

Bulent Abali is a Principal Research Staff Member in the Systems Acceleration and Memory department at the IBM T. J. Watson Research Center. He received a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the Ohio State University in 1989. He subsequently joined IBM at the T. J. Watson Research Center, where he has worked on computer architecture, parallel computing, HPC switches, Infiniband and PCIe, data compression, storage and memory systems, and systems virtualization. His current work focuses on systems accelerators and he is the architect of on-chip data compression accelerators on the z15, P9, P8, p7+ processors.
