Luis (Danny) Bathen is a Principal Research Staff Member at IBM. His research interests are in the areas of blockchain/decentralized technologies, machine learning (Language, Vision, etc.), and edge computing, with a focus on model compression and optimization. He graduated with a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, Irvine. He is a Ronald E. McNair Fellow, Intel/GEM Fellow, and NSF CyberCorps Fellow. Luis was awarded HENAAC’s 2018 Most Promising Engineer Advanced Degree – Ph.D. Most recently, he was selected to attend and present the The Grainger Foundation Frontiers of Engineering symposium (US and US-Japan).
