Thomas Zimmerman           

I am a Research Staff Member and Master Inventor exploring the frontiers of human-computer interaction at IBM Research--Almaden. My 70+ patents cover virtual reality, position tracking, user input, music training and performance, wireless communication, biometrics, microscopy and encryption. I am interested in signal processing, machine learning, human/data interaction and visualization. Currently I'm developing instruments and image signal processing to study cells and biological systems. I also have a passion for STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) education, solar and wind energy, and monitoring the health of people and the environment.
