I was awarded a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge in 1998 for work on network control, since then I have been at IBM Research in Zurich. At IBM I have worked on multiple aspects of distributed systems including large scale distributed games, sensor networks, realtime messaging and OS deployment. My current focus is on big data processing systems. I'm the author of dozens of scientific papers and patents.
