Reasoning - overview

The Reasoning PIC (Professional Interest Community) covers aspects of Artificial Intelligence (AI) that touch on decision-making, from search and heuristics all the way to reasoning, planning, and optimization. In this respect, the PIC combines traditional aspects of both the AI and Operations Research (OR) communities.

Reasoning is also closely tied in with a number of other Cognitive research areas such as learning (models), interaction & perception (execution of decisions), and knowledge (representations and models).

The key academic conferences for the Reasoning PIC include AAAI, IJCAI, CPAIOR, INFORMS, AAMAS, UAI, NIPS, and ICRA (for a full list, please visit this page).

The PIC has put together a list of reasoning-centric topics for AI educators and researchers. You can access this list at the following page.
