Network and system architectures exploiting fast reconfigurable optical switches

The holy Grail of optical switches is a combination of high radix, fast switching times, low insertion loss, low power and low cost. This talk reviews promising development efforts and explores system scenarios that could use such switches. © 2014 OSA.
