The optimization of OLED structures for amorphous silicon thin film transistors application through combinatorial methods and enhanced outcoupling was discussed. An overview of the capabilities of combinatorial methods for electrical and electro-optical device optimization was presented. The tuning of the angular intensity distribution and the spectral characteristics were demonstrated. The enhancement of the light outcoupling by varying the optical thickness of a dielectric layer deposited on top of a semitransparent metal elecrode was also elaborated.
