  • Parameter estimation for dynamical systems: nonlinear filtering for chaotic systems, detectability, numerical optimization, large-scale inverse problems  
  • Statistical learning: hidden Markov models, Expectation-Maximization algorithms for closed-loop datasets, Bayesian classifiers  
  • Applications: diffuse optical tomography, vFFR (blood pressure estimation in coronary artery from angiograms), optical flow estimation, full waveform inversion, traffic state estimation
